Did you know?! A lot of people confuse the Pyrenean Mastiff for other breeds especially as a mix Great Pyrenees x Mastiff. HOWEVER, the Pyrenean Mastiff is NOT a mix. It does share minor visual traits with other breeds as seen in pictures below but when comparing the breed standard, as we talked about previously they are what make a breed a breed, you can see the differences when you look more closely. When looking for puppies it is extremely important to be wary of anyone who claim the Pyrenean Mastiff is a mix. The Pyrenean Mastiff is purebred dog originating from Spain as we have show in past posts regarding the history of the breed. Believe us, we have seen it all from those claiming they can register great pyrenees x Saint Bernards as Pyrenean Mastiffs. Tons of people claiming a great pyr x mastiff is a Pyrenean Mastiff, etc. More to come!
